It regulates the incidence of light on the imager of the camera and ensures optimal exposure of your mega pixel images. All lenses have a standard connection thread. Significant distinguishing features of the mega pixel lenses are the angle of view (102° - 24° with 1/3'' image sensor 74° - 18° with 1/4" image sensor) and the focal length (of 2.8 to 12 mm variable). The larger the focal length, the narrower the angle of view and the closer you can zoom in on the image section. The aspherical lenses ensure particularly high quality images. The high edge sharpness in comparison to other (mega pixel) lenses prevents reliable loss of sharpness at the edges.
